Head of Alternatives Advisory, Investor Solutions
Ted Berenblum is the Head of Alternatives Advisory of BNY Mellon Investor Solutions. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of the business’s new Alts Advisory function and developing new capabilities that include commercialization of new multi- and single-manager strategies and managed account capabilities.
Prior to this role, Ted was Head of Alternative Investments for BNY Mellon Wealth Management, where he was responsible for leading the expansion and successful implementation and delivery of alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, commodities and managed futures. In this position, Ted served as the Chairman of Wealth Management’s Alternative Investment Strategy Committee.
With more than 35 years of experience in investment management for high-net/ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and global institutional clients, Ted joined BNY Mellon Wealth Management from Citigroup, where he was a managing director and head of ultra-high-net-worth investments for its Global Wealth Management division and the Chief Investment Officer for the private bank’s co-investment funds. Prior to that, he held various management positions at Citigroup Private Bank, including Chief Investment Executive of the Family Office business, head of global product management, product strategy and product selection. Before that, he was with Bankers Trust Private Bank, where he was managing director and head of the Global Portfolio Management group. Ted was also a senior global balanced portfolio manager at the Chase Private Bank. Ted began his career at Merrill Lynch where he spent over a decade in the Capital Markets division as a fixed income trader and institutional account executive leading the international bank group.
Ted earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a master of business administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He is a former president of the Yale Club of New York, past president of the Yale Alumni Association of Greenwich and past treasurer of the Young Audiences of New York.
