Lale Akoner is a market strategist in BNY Mellon Investment Management’s Global Investment Strategy group. Her responsibilities include contributing to Investment Management’s knowledge platform through analysis of global investment trends, market activity, and economics.
Before joining BNY Mellon, Lale worked at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business, conducting research in empirical and quantitative finance. She also taught numerous courses in mathematics, quantitative finance, and economics at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
A native of Turkey, Lale received her B.A. degree in economics as the highest ranking student from the nation’s one of the leading academic institutions, Bilkent University. She is also a graduate of Yale University where she earned an M.A. degree in economics with concentration in macroeconomics, and from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business where she earned an M.Sc. degree in finance with concentration in financial engineering.
