John M. Davis is Director of N.A. Retirement Marketing at BNY Mellon Investment Management and is responsible for development of BNY Mellon’s Retirement marketing strategy to build brand presence, awareness and voice in the Defined Contribution and Personal Retirement market segments by aligning retirement marketing efforts with sales to create highly integrated distribution initiatives that drive increased revenue for the firm.

John joined BNY Mellon in October 2015. He possesses extensive experience in building brands and the marketing of investment products and services to institutional, intermediary and retail investors.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, John was the Executive Director of Corporate Equity, and Retirement Plan Marketing at UBS Investment Advisors where he played a leading role in the re-branding of the Employer Plans Advisory Services corporate equity business. As Senior Vice President of Retirement Products at Citi Personal Wealth Management John was responsible for the overhaul and re-launch of the broker-dealer’s Defined Contribution Plan product platform, and leading a team to ensure compliance with regulations 404(a) and 408(b)(2).

At OppenheimerFunds he led the execution of the award-winning national branding campaign Globalize Your Thinking. Prior to that, he managed OppenheimerFunds’ Small Business and Individual Retirement plans product and marketing team. In that role he managed the development of one of the first Monte-Carlo-based Retirement Income Planning tools for financial advisors, and was a frequent public speaker on the topics of retirement income and retirement distribution strategies.

John attended St. Olaf College and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
